The Abomination That Causes Desolation Matthew 24:15 and Daniel 9:27

Do these scriptures reference a modern weapon of war? I doubt it but what a fitting way to describe these monstrosities. I’ve always been fascinated by nuclear explosions. I find them terrifying and beautiful. Raw power unleashed on the world. Power beyond any real capacity of our understanding.

“now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds” Chapter 11, Verse 32 of the Bhagavad Gita

When I was in fifth grade my teacher read to the class a detailed description of what would happen to the city of Fort Wayne, In the event of a nuclear war. It was published in the News Sentinel, a local newspaper. I have no idea of the date but if anyone out there knows I would love to hear from you.

I have to say that description profoundly affected me to the point that when I’m having stressful times I dream about tornados or nuclear war. In my teens I was acutely aware that at any moment the sirens would go off and I would have about twenty or thirty minutes before I would be incinerated along with everyone and everything I knew.
